Architectural surface unfolding
On AIR developed a software tool to unfold complex architectural surfaces (barrel-vault, cross-vault, cupola) acquired by stereophotogrammetry (DXF Autocad files).

The tool performs two main functions:
definition of the geometric shape which best approximates the given structure
  sphere for cupola
  cylinder for barrel-vault, cross-vault
  and generation of the equation of the solid figure
unfolding of the solid figure
The system unfolds the surface on the plane parallel to the base, by projecting all the points of the sections perpendicular to the plane.
